A Win most Epic

Super nice animation, expressions, camera angles, and a huge massive dose of insanity. And the end was certainly unexpected. Look forward to the next installment when you make it.
This review had better sumbit this time...

MRat responds:

Thanks man. This is a long time coming, as a series. Been toying with the idea for ages, letting the insanity mull about. Hope others like it as much as you did.

Ha ha

That is a funny song and a nice animation to go with it. The way it was animated made me laugh a bit too but maybe it would have been good to have some more complex animation in there, and also less of repeating the exact same artwork over and over. Maybe drawing from some different angles would have worked. I dunno.
Also, in the bit where he collapses... the fire was silhoutted! Which was really bizarre.

XxwaSSupxX responds:

Yay! an honest person! To be honest, I got lazy. Thanks for the 8 though!

Was just about to play starcraft...

when what did I find? A great animation, I really liked it. It was true to the universe... the artwork etc was good, especially the 3d type stuff, the animation was nice though could maybe be a bit smoother in parts. The story is good, makes me want to see more! Although, a substance that makes you immune to energy doesn't make a lot of sense... even bullets have kinetic energy. Though maybe more will be revealed later on. I like that one of the marines was a psychic, though it would have been even better if he was a ghost. Haha, and how did that yellow marine's huge head fit in his helmet? The fight with the protoss warrior was good. But getting himself killed by a primitive human robot, how shameful. Hope to see part 2 when it's done!

LogFish responds:

Heeheh love your review! I'm going to work a bit harder on voices, faces, backgrounds and detail etc. in the next installment. He actually is a ghost he was just wearing marine armor, more ghostliness is in the pipeline. Maybe I should've let the Zealot win eventually... na, heheheh. Actually the protoss seem to fair particularly in all the episode outlines I've done - I suppose I could address that a little, they're pretty cool too really (though I always liked Terran better - harder to use but much more deadly hehe)

Nice one

Wow, the designs of the characters, the scenery, and everything are really unique. The animation is amazing too, the movements are realistic, the shots are really clever, and it must have taken a loong time to do some all that. I'm not so sure I like the music in the background so much but that's probably just my opinion, and also some sound effects would help a lot. The only other real criticism is that I was thinking while watching it 'Wow, this is good, but what is going on??'. So there's a river in the sky? The city is on that huge boat? And it gets attacked? And I'm still not sure where and what those red lantern type things on chains are. But anyway, I'm sure it will be cleared up in future chapters. I look forward to see them!

LordDF responds:

Sorry about the unclearness. The lantern looking things on the chains were underwater cities within the huge boat, so yeah, the city was in the boat.

They are getting attacked, but I can't tell you why or by who yet. :P

Very mad

This is quite insane... it only has a few seconds of simple animation, so it doesn't look as good as your other stuff. Also McGee doesn't look much like a shrimp, or even a prawn, and he sort of makes me want to poke his eyes. The 'facts' that he spews are hilarious, you really should send some lies to 'Dave's web of lies'! Also, I live in swindon, I should look for this John Murray building and survey the nine continents of the world from its summit. He really does need to stop dancing though.

HappyHarry responds:

Mate, I lived in Swindon til October (went to Commonweal and all that) I was referring to that massive building in the town centre, but I think I called it the wrong name...

Heh

When I saw the title of this I thought: seven... sky... did I make this without knowing? Hahaha. Anyway, this is quite a good animation. Maybe it's because I didn't watch part one first, but it does seem hard to tell whats going on. The different shots are good but it seems sort of confusing, lots of abstract looking magic or whatever, there are lots of close up shots and you rarely see the whole picture, maybe more colour would help clear it up a bit more too, as there is a lot of black in this. Also, the lightning/cloud effect at the start looked pretty ugly, as did some of the gradients. The music worked well with this I think. Oh yeah, I don't think the 'flickering' when he runs around works too well either. I like the way he uses ice on that sword to freeze it, good idea.

Black-Crystal responds:

hmm.. he's not actually using ice to freeze the sword but Seven's mask seem to have a ability to generate a shield. The shield is made of ice becos Seven himself has some special power which he cleverly combined it with the power of the mask to produce a Cold-Shield.

Good work

A surprisingly accurate parody of the Lord of the Rings film. Though I personally think this 'clock' thing is far too overdone, this is still very well made. It is very good visually, though there isn't as much animation on the actual characters (they have no limbs and stuff). The jokes about this website were clever. Though it always sounds stupid when people use 'gay' in an insulting way. The voices were good I think. I didn't get what that wiggling arrow thing was by the Gollum character. Anyway, I will watch the next part when it's done.

StrangeClock responds:

Because Clocks don't have mouths to indicate they are talking, clock's hands or arrows are generally used to indicate who is doing the talking.

I liked it

Quite a good flash cartoon you've got here. I found the 'special, foolproof move' especially funny for some reason. The 'paper cutout' style comes off as slightly lazy but it does work, it reminds me of the great game Paper Mario. A couple of things I noticed were that the water at the bottom of the waterfall looked a bit unconvincing, as did the campfire (maybe try some frame by frame animation for flames and things, it's far more effective.) I found the music fits very well, and the characters voices were well done too. Anyway, good work on this (and chapter one).

No-Need-for-Bushido responds:

Will look into it. The paper cutout style is partly due to my desire to make flash movies before fully understanding the program. Expect better stuff as I learn what the heck I'm doing.

I love starcraft

This is a good starcraft-based thing... I definately like how the characters and vehicles were drawn, though the actual animation wasn't the same quality. Though I know it's a lot harder.
Another thing I kept thinking when watching it is it could be a lot more 'dramatic'. Such as that protoss just stands in front of the tank as it moves towards him and gets killed, but he could have tried to defend himself or roll out of the way before being crushed or blown up. Also afterwards his comrade leaps onto the tank and pokes it a bit with his energy blades and it randomly blows up, which looks sort of strange. Imagine you had him leap onto the top, and start tearing huge bits of metal off, smashes his way into the cockpit, and slices up the driver inside. All with cool camera angles and zooming in and stuff. That would be so much more exciting.
Also there isn't much of a coherent 'story' to this, but I suppose it's difficult when using quotes from the game.
But anyway, this was still well done. It'd be good to see more in the future.

LegolaSS responds:

yes, in my next one im going to focus more on fbf then good graphics, and mabey have some funny easter eggs hidden away

Excellent

Great short you have here. The 'punchline' was great, I wasn't expecting that to happen. I like the movement of the chicken, such as the wings blurring, the way it sort of 'bounces', and all that. The music in the background fits well too. The length and timing I think you got right too, not too long but still builds up well to the end. There isn't any way I can think right now this could be improved on. Nice job.

Cheesius responds:

Well... I could re-draw and animate the background. Which I did :) Give it another look, it's prettier.

My hovercraft is full of eels.
